Rabbi Lawrence Kushner

What are friends for? The mockumentary “Your Good Friend,” starring Rabbi Lawrence Kushner, scholar-in-residence at S.F. Congregation Emanu-El, is about a widowed rabbi who returns to San Francisco from the East Coast to find a washed-up, British pornographer living in his apartment. To earn enough money so the pornographer can return to London, the two team up to create a clergy-approved erotic website. Kushner and director Matthew Jacobs, who co-wrote the film, will answer questions after the screening. 7 p.m. Thursday, May 22 at Osher Marin JCC, 200 N. San Pedro Road, San Rafael. $10-$12.

“Jewish Heritage Celebration.” Exhibit featuring work from contemporary American and Israeli artists. At Arttitud, 111 Potrero Ave., S.F. 6 p.m. $20.
