Celebrating Poland in song

The Jewish Music Festival, which kicks off Saturday, March 2, this year will celebrate the music of Poland.
The Polish Jewish folk band Polesye will headline the opening night of the 28th festival, which will honor the musical heritage of a country that was once home to more than 3 million Jews. Sharing the stage with Polesye will be journalist Ruth Ellen Gruber, who will discuss Jewish life in Poland today, and the Polish jazz trio Shofar, which turns Jewish folk melodies into avant-garde jazz rants.
