Tehiyah Day School wins national education award

El Cerrito’s Tehiyah Day School was one of two California private schools to be designated an “Exemplary High Performing School” and recipient of the 2012 National Blue Ribbon School Award for academic excellence. It is the only Jewish school from among 50 private schools honored nationwide.

Head of School Bathea James and Head of Middle School Elise Prowse will attend a Nov. 12 ceremony in Washington D.C., honoring the 219 public and 50 private schools to win the Blue Ribbon award. The U.S. Department of Education has issued the award for the past 30 years.
