Birthright Israel’s Next program has launched an interactive online map of upcoming High Holy Day services and celebrations. It is aimed at helping young adults find meaningful, affordable Jewish opportunities near them.
Among the more than 300 services and events in 175 U.S. cities are 18 in the Bay Area, from Cupertino to Tiburon to Alameda. Many of the events are free or low-cost. The map is paired with an online resource guide including a primer on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur customs and recipes.
“Next is providing young adults with an opportunity to learn about the myriad of options for the High Holidays…in the Bay Area, specifically, we are proud to highlight opportunities, both synagogue and non-synagogue based, that represent the diversity that is the trademark of the Bay Area Jewish community,” said Adam Pollack, West Coast regional director at Birthright Israel Next.
This is the second year Next has offered this tool. In 2011, it was the most popular page on the organization’s website. To learn more, visit http://convio.birthrightisrael.com and click “NEXT” then “High Holidays.”
