Maariv to end daily print newspaper

The Israeli daily newspaper Ma’ariv, which has been in existence since 1948, will cease its print edition during the week and instead will publish only on the Internet.

The weekend Ma’ariv edition will be sold on Fridays and holidays, according to the newspaper’s editor. No date for the change has been announced.

The board of Discount Investment Corp., owned by Nochi Danker, who also owns Ma’ariv, has agreed to put more than $3 million into the daily newspaper. — jta
