JFCS needs help with Passover seder sacks

Jewish Family and Children Services is looking for volunteers across the Bay Area to help assemble seder sacks for Passover, which begins on the night of April 19 this year.

The sacks will be filled with matzah, gefilte fish, macaroons and other traditional foods, and then delivered to the elderly, families in crises and people with chronic illnesses or disabilities.

At the Marin office, volunteers will assemble bags from 4 to 6 p.m. April 7. For information, call (415) 419-3661.

Other offices of the S.F.-based JFCS also will be participating: the Santa Rosa office from 1 to 4 p.m. April 11, (707) 303-1532; the San Mateo office from 4:30 to 6 p.m. April 6, (650) 931-1858; and the Palo Alto office from 7 to 9 p.m. April 5, (650) 688-3090.

The San Francisco office only needs help with deliveries, which will be done April 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. To participate, call (415) 449-3832.

Those unable to volunteer can donate online at www.jfcs.org. Click on “donate” in the “give” menu and designate your gift for seder sacks. Each donation of $18 covers one seder sack.
