The Business Leadership Council of the S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation is sponsoring a panel discussion about the expanding relationship between the Hollywood and Israeli television and film industries.
For example, ABC, MTV, HBO, Fox and Showtime all have Israeli television shows on their slates for 2011.
Five entertainment executives are scheduled to take part in the discussion, including Howard Gordon (Emmy-winning producer of TV shows including “24,” “The X-Files” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) and David Israel (producer of “3rd Rock from the Sun” and other TV shows).
Stuart Tenzer (founder of a firm that represents content and artists worldwide) and Oded Turgeman (president of an L.A.-based development and production company with a new branch
in Tel Aviv) also will take part.
The moderator will be Scott Siegler, former president of Columbia Pictures Television.
The event begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26 at the law offices of McDermott Will and Emory, 275 Middleton Road, Menlo Park. Tickets are $25-$60, with discounts for buying before Sunday Jan. 23 and for JCF members. For information, call (415) 369-2875 or visit www.jewishfed.org.
