Senators stress value of U.S.-Israel ties

Three-quarters of the Senate signed a bipartisan letter to the Obama administration stressing the importance of U.S.-Israel relations.

Sens. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) were the leading signatories of the letter, which was delivered April 13 and signed by 78 senators. It’s similar to the letter the House of Representatives, signed by 333 members, sent to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton over the weekend.

The senators said in their letter that the United States “must never forget the depth and breadth of our alliance and always do our utmost to reinforce a relationship that has benefited both nations for more than six decades.” — jpost.com
