Saturday Teen Hoops nights begin at 7 p.m. and feature pickup games, movies, tapes and pizza for teens only. JCC coaches and staff members supervise.
Other teen classes include Pre-Teen Jazz and Hip Hop for grades four through eight Mondays, Jan. 8 through March 4.
A ceramics class begins at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3 and continues through March 6.
Several classes in Tae Kwon Do, the ancient Korean art of self-defense, also will be offered to teens.
For children aged 5-6, ballet classes begin at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4 and continue through March 7. Instructor is Marybeth Gallant, who trained at the Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance, Alvin Ailey American Dance Center and the Manhattan School of Ballet.
Lisa Hubbard, who has danced professionally in Europe and the Bay Area, teaches jazz dance to kids in grades two through six at 4:15 p.m. Mondays, and tap to children in kindergarten through fourth grade at 3:30 p.m. Mondays.
Various gymnastics and acrobatics classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 2 for boys and girls aged 10 months to 11 years. An aerobics class for girls aged 12-15 will also be offered.
Bodytalk is a 10-session performing arts "playshop" that uses giant paper-bag masks, mime, clowning and juggling to improve communication skills in children aged 3-4 years. It begins at 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays, starting Jan. 3.
Instructor Nancy Gold is a graduate of the International Clown Theatre Congress and the Ecole Jacques Le Coque Movement Theatre.
Beginning music instruction for youngsters aged 3-4 will take place at 2:15 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning Jan. 2. Advanced classes for kids 3-5 will follow at 3:15 p.m. Cost is $95 for 10 weeks. Private lessons also are available on Mondays beginning at 3 p.m.; cost is $15 per week.
